Steps To Follow

Fava bean fried balls are crispy, savory bites made from ground fava beans mixed with herbs, spices, and aromatics, then shaped into balls or patties and deep-fried until golden brown. They're most famously known as ta'ameya, the Egyptian version of falafel, though similar variations exist across the Middle East and Mediterranean.

Step 1

Use your food processor to ground the fava beans, chickpeas and rusk.

Step 2

With a tablespoon take from the mix and start shaping it with your hands to formulate equal sized balls.

Step 3

Leave in the freezer for at least 15 minutes.

Step 4

Add rusk layer to the balls and spray them with olive oil.

Step 5

Fry in airfryer for 20-25 minutes on 170-180 degrees.
